CURRICULUM VITAE - DR.
SCOTT M. JOHNSON, DC Physiotherapy, Palmer College of Chiropractic – Davenport, IA Licensure: Arizona“I was taught to be a doctor; not a therapist. You will not encounter a one-size-fits-all, wham-bam experience with me. You will have an experience of a Chiropractic Clinician guiding you through the case management process. You can count on being subluxation-free every time you come to my office, while being double checked every visit. Using natural physical laws to improve health, I use several techniques so you can trust you are getting the best, safest care imaginable. By using Motion findings, X-ray findings, Leg check findings, and Muscle Testing, every visit, your body tells me when, where, and how to adjust. By using all these techniques at once, you can rest assured that we are correcting the cause and not just chasing symptoms.”

Dr. Scott Johnson was born and raised in Southern Indiana. He got into chiropractic due to its natural, caring, and “cause” centered approach to health care. He believes he was chosen to be a chiropractor at a young age. “Playing high school sports, I injured my spine. The doctors recommended surgery. My mother wanted a second opinion. After an exam and his own x-rays, the chiropractor assured her that, though surgery was an option, there may be another non-invasive treatment that could achieve the desired result and that my body could heal from this injury with proper treatment and management. He utilized safe, gentle, effective techniques I continue to use today and had me playing sports again within weeks. Can you imagine? From SURGERY to a non-invasive procedure that got me back into the game… quickly!” Dr. Johnson attended university at Indiana and worked with the public as a physical trainer. I then attended the Harvard of Chiropractic schools; Palmer College of Chiropractic, in Davenport, Iowa. Chiropractic College, like medical school, involves thousands of hours over 5 years of post-graduate education with approximately 900 hours in a clinic setting. An example of how much training we receive? A comparison of 11 chiropractic colleges and 22 medical schools in the United States revealed: Chiropractic students receive more anatomy, nutrition, diagnosis, x-ray, and orthopedic classroom hours. I’ve worked in chiropractic offices since 1991 and began my Arizona clinic in 2003. “I have seen amazing results with chiropractic care. On one humanitarian trip to India, I, and 30 other chiropractors, saw thousands of patients in just 4 days ranging from crippled and wheel chair bound, to abused orphan children. I have witnessed a teen-age girl regain her hearing, a diagnosed, “in-fertile” female become pregnant, chronic ear infections (which were unresponsive to medications) go away in a child, and people needing to be carried into my office walk out, after an adjustment, happy and encouraged that hope had been restored. I remember one young man found in the desert after days of being missing. Heat stroke caused him to go into a long coma. After he came out of the coma, he just wasn’t the same. He was awake, but his eyes were glazed over and he was essentially unresponsive. His mother wanted to know if chiropractic care could help him. I told her that the effects of heat stroke on the brain were probably permanent but chiropractic could help him be the best that he can be. The greatest sight was seeing this young man come in over time, seeing his eyes clear of the haze, taking his first steps out of the wheel chair, walking back to the treatment room and talking his favorite topic… Diamondbacks baseball. I still remember the emotional conversations with his mom as she witnessed her son coming back to her. This young man still had limitations, but he was coming back to life! All from a simple adjustment that restored the life force emanating down the nerves and balancing his body to use energy more effectively! “You're not that bad?… then Chiropractic can surely help you!” Dr.
